Stephanie Marulli, Team Leader
Stephanie brings a unique blend of educational expertise and creative passion to her position as Julia’s right-hand assistant. With both a B.S. and M.A. in Biology, she began her career as a high school Biology teacher in New Jersey. Following a successful teaching career, she and her husband embraced a new chapter in life, relocating to Leland, NC, where they built their dream home.
Her journey with Julia began serendipitously in 2016 when searching for someone to refinish an antique dresser. What started as a customer inquiry blossomed into a dynamic partnership. Today, Stephanie works alongside Julia as a decorative painter while managing the business’s daily operations. Her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail ensure the smooth running of the studio.
When not at work, Stephanie maintains an active lifestyle, enjoying outdoor adventures with her husband including pickleball, biking, birdwatching and hiking. She enjoys skiing and frequently travels to Colorado to visit her son, combining her love for family and outdoor activities.
Her background in education, paired with her artistic and organizational skills, attention to detail and administrative expertise, makes her an invaluable asset to our team.

Joyce Sassoon, Interior Designer
Originally a New Yorker, Joyce spent many years in the Fashion industry. As president of the North American division of an international designer swimwear company she worked closely with the designers on prints, fabrics, colors and the merchandising of the collections and later took her love of design and technical drawing and studied at the New York Institute of Art & Design.
After moving to Leland almost 6 years ago, we had the good fortune to meet and recently teamed up to collaborate with her and deliver beautiful, thoughtful and creative interior designs to all our clients. She loves the spacial planning as well as the aesthetics, and enjoy making our clients happy in their new home.

Lisa Sahanas, Paint Specialist
As a Faux and Decorative Painter for Julia, Lisa enjoys transforming kitchen/bathroom cabinets, as well as bringing new life to furniture. She has worked for Julia since 2018 learning and creating many new techniques along the way. The process of transforming furniture by layering the colors to create the look of stone, wood, striation, or even the “scumble dance” never ceases to amaze! We all love the way our paint, knowledge and techniques transform the customers’ furniture and home. As a mother of 2 wonderful girls, age 4 and 2, they keep her on her toes and she loves going home to share with them all about the beautiful work we do.

Tiffany Blickenstaff, aka “Dr. Blickenstaff”
Tiffany has been working with Julia since early 2021 painting cabinetry, furniture and walls. Known as our ‘prep girl’, her prepping skills are instrumental in ensuring the ultimate paint finish. Her ability to repair damages with precision has earned her the nickname of Dr. Blickenstaff!
She is also a premier furniture and wood restorer. Together, we are always encouraging, and learning from one another and make a fabulous team!
She was born in MD, but lived mostly in the beautiful Appalachians of southern central PA, and has lived in NC for about twelve years. She’s an Army combat veteran who served in support of Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom in 2003, and holds a degree in Criminal Justice.
She’s always enjoyed working with her hands and has a great attention to detail, along with a fabulous work ethic. Painting is definitely her passion, and it brings so much joy in seeing the end results of hard work and skill. It truly is a labor of love!
